Instructions to set up an Insurgency server:
You can find this information at: http://forums.insmod.net/index.php?showtopic=6201 I give the original author full credit.
The first thing you need to do is update your dedicated server files. To do this, go Here and follow the HLDS update tool.
Next step is to install the mod on your server. If you have a dedicated box this will require you to install it directly on the box otherwise you will have to upload the files. You can get the latest version from the Insurgency download site: http://www.insmod.net/downloads.
Now the final step is to setup the shorcut to launch the server, If you have a server auto restart program you would enter this into the launch options field:
C:\Server>srcds.exe -console -game insurgency +ip yourip -port yourport +map ins_baghdad +maxplayers your#ofplayers -noipx +fps_max 500 -tickrate yourtickrate (anywhere from 66 to 101)
The final thing you need is the server config file. Copy and paste this into a text file and save it as server.cfg in your Insurgency/cfg folder:
(This server config file was taken from: http://forums.insmod.net/index.php?showtopic=6201
// server name hostname "INSURGENCY SERVER" // rcon passsword rcon_password "password" ins_forceautoassign 0 // operation sv_lan 0 sv_region 0 mapcyclefile mapcycle.txt sv_pausable 0 sv_cheats 0 sv_consistency 1 sv_alltalk 0 sv_allowupload 1 sv_allowdownload 1 sv_airaccelerate 10 sv_voiceenable 1 mp_allowspectators 1 mp_chattime 10 sv_timeout 65 net_maxfilesize 64 // round specific cvars mp_fraglimit 0 mp_playerid 0 mp_timelimit 0 // bandwidth rates/settings sv_minrate 20000 decalfrequency 20 sv_minupdaterate 40 sv_maxrate 30000 sv_maxupdaterate 100 fps_max 1000 // server logging log on sv_logbans 1 sv_logecho 1 sv_logfile 1 sv_log_onefile 0 // operation sv_lan 0 sv_region 255 // execute ban files exec banned_user.cfg exec banned_ip.cfg exec banned_user.cfg exec banned.cfg |

Hey,
A quick update I just found. PlanetMoH has just posted some more pictures of the new Destroyed Village in comparison to the original. It all Looks amazing! Be sure to check them out:
Hey all,
First update in a long time, but things are finally getting interesting in the MoHA area. A pic has been released of an MP map in the new game, and it looks a heck of a lot like Destroyed Village. I hope the Airborne team continues to remake the original mohaa maps, theyre a lot of fun(c’mon V2). Anyways, PlanetMoH has a nice comparison of the new pic to the original, Check it out Here - PMoH.
I thought this was very interesting, and worth taking a look at. For all you MoHaa people, here is some info on coding addons for mohaa… a great idea:
From MoH:Dev (http://mohdev.mods-r-us.net/index.php?id=home)
“This site is supposed to be a place of information for everyone who is interested in the development of MOH:AA related software. It is currently only run by me (Wombat).
I used to play Medal of Honor: Allied Assault quite frequently, but I always wanted to know more about the engine and what could be done with it. No script editing, but the real hardcoding that’s “under the hood”. I therefore reversed several aspects of the MOHAA engine (cgame dll, fgame dll, network protocol, etc).
To support the idea of the open source movement, I decided to publish the results on this page so that others can gain advantage of it and find out more stuff to share with the community. As MOHAA was based on the Quake engine, this can probably be also interesting for similar games like Quake3Arena, Call of Duty, MOH:Add-ons, and many more.”

These two tools I will show you make BF2 so easy to run, just a few files to upload and you can monitor your server's usage, change settings, change maps, do anything you want in a nice little GUI remotely from anywhere.
The first thing you need to do is download the Mod Manager scripts. They will let
you run the administration tool on your server. Once downloaded, extract the zip file, and change the settings in mods\bf2\settings in modmanage.con. Change the rcon password and basicrconpassword. If you don't, anyone who knows the default password will be able to connect and modify your server. You may also want to change the port. If you run multiple servers you will have to change the port for each server. A quick side story, i once didn't change the port and my server provider
must have had two servers running off of the same IP, and i was having trouble connecting to the remote manager(now i know because i was trying to connect to someone else's)
so i looked at the default modmanager files and saw that there was a default password, I tried it and connected, and i noticed… it wasn't my server i was connected to,
so I had access to someone else's server. The reason i couldn't connect to my remote manager was because they were both using the same port and it was trying to connect to the other server's manager.
So it might be a good idea to check all that stuff out. Once you have changed everything, just upload the whole thing to your server, make sure to keep the same file structure.
Now after you have those files on your server, it is time to run BF2CC. BF2CC is a program that lets you administrate your server, change settings, maps, and watch users.
It is a great program to have to help run your server. When you first see their site: www.bf2cc.com, you may notice 2 files: BF2CC Client
and Daemon. I will just go over the client. The Daemon is something you have to install on your server and is like a medium between the client and the server which allows multiple people to
administrate the server at the same time. I don't think many server providers use this so I will just go over the Client.
Extract the client and run the BF2CC executable. If you don't have the right .NET framework installed it will tell you and you have to go install it.
Once you have the program running, you will see a little window that has two radio buttons, one for rcon only and one for daemon, click the rcon Only button.
Enter the server IP, the port you put for the mod scripts, default 4711, and the password you made for rcon, default super123 i believe. Hit connect.
If you set everything up correctly you should now connect to your BF2 server and have all your settings, player list, and maplist in front of you to play with as you wish.
Good luck with it, have fun
The Nice part about BF2 and the rest of the BF series is that all you have to do to run a server is download and install
this dedicated unranked server file. Choose from Linux or windows.
Once you have installed that all updates and such are just executables you download to your server and run, very easy to run.
The problem comes when you configure your server, it can be a painful task, so I highly recommend you look at the 'Admin Tools section below. If you want to do this manually, you will have to edit the serversettings.con file in mods/bf2/settings folder on your server, if you are running a dedicated server you can run the dedicated server executable. However this is more work and you will find the server tools below a great help.
Once installed you can just run the BF2 dedicated server launch file and configure your server with the little gui. Not too bad. A lot of server companies out there now use some mods that let you configure your server remotely and make life a lot easier with a lot more functionality than config file editing.
